Anthony Goicolea comes to my mind (but thats probably because I love him LOL)
but also, I think you should look at the work of Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons. Her work isn't directly about the act of growing up itself, but more of the torn feelings of culture vs self. You'll love her I'm sure! (and she lives in Boston ;) )
Kanako Sasaki, she's incredibly fun! Her work has to deal more with childhood rather than growing up, but visually are really great and aren't afraid to have humor.
Holly Andres as well, though she isn't the best of photographers she deals with adolescent themes throughout her work
