We talked a bunch about the symbolism of the red ball and how it looks like a lot of different things as well as references a lot of different things. Chris suggested that you get the Dictionary of Symbols. You are really good at working with metaphor just keep pushing that. 

We also talked a great deal about other ways to integrate the red ball so that even if it is really subtle it is always with you. one idea that came up was those kids hair times that have the plastic balls on them
