
In researching I came across a few things I thought were pretty crazy and you guys might get a kick out of. First, at the Forestry Museum in Portland they teach children to plant trees using plastic dirt and plastic trees. And on a much grander scale, check out the Lied Jungle in Omaha, the "World's Largest Indoor Rainforest".

Also of interest on a different note is this page about Tokyo and the shrinking amount of greenery left in the super city (Only 4% of the city is allocated for green space as opposed to New Yorks 12% and shrinking still). The people in the city have taken to making flower pot gardens because they have no actual plots of land to plant anything in the ground.
